The twins

August bank holiday weekend and a trip to Altrincham garden centre to meet up with the twins. They weren't quite sure of me at first - just needed a little memory jogging, I suspected. Anyway, it's not about me - here are the girls. First, Evie, holding a juice.
And Ellie, looking mildly concerned.
Here they are together, munching Skips and eyeing up the play area.
It was time for action. Ellie soon made her way up the log ladder...
...and back down the slide. Ummm, head first. Not textbook.
Evie also made her way up there, but in her own way (using the net walls to walk up the smooth bit, from memory). At one point, she was indoctrinated into a small group under the command of an older girl, but she managed to escape.
Rick and Ellie demonstrate the walking up the legs tricks.
Evie showed off her stunts.
But she soon recovered, looking here like a kind of Spiderwoman having landed from a jump.
And then it was time to go. "Bye bye Paul!" came the cries. I had been accepted!
Photos from their 2nd birthday party will follow in due course...
Ok, took me a bit of time. I'm just lazy, alright? So, Saturday 22nd October 2011 was a very special day. The twins reached the grand old age of two years! First up, Fran can't resist some present opening, while Dan sorts out the balloon for Ellie.
Evie, meanwhile, tries not to look too guilty near the table of food. What is she doing with those jammy dodgers?
Aha, she is de-jamming the jammy dodgers!
It's Daisy's first party, and both her and Lynne are dressed up to the nines. Like mother, like daughter, eh.
Dan couldn't resist a hold of Daisy. She's in relatively good spirits here, but a combination of many things (the noise, the number of people, the unfamiliar surroundings, a lack of sleep, and Dan's stubble) soon had her bawling. We decided to put her to bed, so she missed the main action of the party, unfortunately. Next year!
One of Evie's presents was a box of small crackers. Alas they contained small objects upon opening and thus were confiscated.
I'm guessing that this is hand-made rather than shop-bought. Certainly the topping anyway...
This cake is also impressively decorated.
Three generations of Smith/England look with anticipation at the latest gift offering.
Ellie certainly likes her little bunny.
But is soon distracted by the little cakes.
This would have been a lovely photo had Dave not decided to stick his face in the way. I think he walked in front of one of the videos too. Tsk.
A look as if to say: do not mess.
Dan gets the familiar "please leave me alone" look.
Now that most of the guests have left, it's time for fun and games with Evie and Alice.
Nic was chief games co-ordinator.
Alice shows off her dribbling skills.
Actually, Alice, this is mine. It's my birthday and I'll confiscate my ball if I want to.
This is hide and seek filmed live as it happened. In actual fact, I'm not sure what she was doing. Anticipating the flash, I think.
That's all I have for now.
