Christmas 2013

Boothstown then Haddington

The next morning, on Graham's actual birthday, it was classroom time with the cuddly toys, as they all sang songs together.

After the excitement of that, it was to munch on some breakfast.  I made some bacon butties for everyone, especially the birthday boy, except for Daisy who probably had some teacake or something.

Then the Rowllings arrived, with a nearly-crawling Becky.  Daisy had tidied up in readiness.

Lynne was very happy to get a Hello Kitty calendar for Christmas.  Oh, will it never end?

Daisy put in the pieces of a puzzle with Uncle Paul.

Daisy was soon fascinated by Becky, who was sucking on any today she could get her hands on.  The potty forms a nice backdrop (as it does on many of these photos, in fact).

We are now in the era of Daisy keeping hair clips in, rather than immediately pulling them out.

Daisy realised that pressing the phone sound button in the telephone box made Becky smile and sometimes giggle, which then made Daisy laugh.  It was infectious and there is a video of them doing this.

Whilst Daisy was keen to use her mini-computer to trace letters and numbers, Becky was more concerned with grabbing hold of the stylus and, of course, munching on it.  "No, Becky!" bemoaned Daisy.

Lynne wanted Becky to sit with her, but she was more interested in trying to get away, as ever.

It's only a matter of time before Becky is crawling - she gets in position but just hadn't (at this point) figured exactly what to do next in order to propel herself forward.

It was then present opening time, as Daisy delighted in pointing out that Graham was in fact sixty years of age.

Bored of trying to crawl, Becky fancied trying some press-ups.

Daisy was keen to share her Bunny toy.  Temporarily, of course, and not her beloved Kitty.

More press-ups.  Definitely a Rowllings.  Perhaps a swim later.

Peter and Louise managed to get hold of some Schoey!! champagne, bubbly but a bit dry.

Time for Becky to spend some time with her Daddy.

Becky was delighted with anything ruffly, such as wrapping paper, not caring what was inside of course.

There is lots of deep concentration going on her with the Schofield sisters and Daisy.

Daisy then saw it upon herself to affix pig ears to Becky's head...

...which was a bit cruel but, ultimately, funny.  Becky didn't seem to mind, although I'm not sure that Louise was 100% impressed.

It's not clear here who is most into the HappyLand out of Lynne and Becky.

Reciprocating the favour, Paul took his turn of reading to Daisy.

It was then time for some birthday scran.  Graham's choice of meal was salmon, although I'm not a fan so had a beef fillet.

That endeth things for the time being.

After a nap, Becky was ready to show off her clapping skills.

Meanwhile, Daisy was keen to demonstrate her ability to dance "Gangnam Style", fast becoming a regular Christmas feature (we're still only two days after the big day).

Becky was hungry so time for a feed, as Daisy put herself on phone box button pressing duty.

Later that evening, it was time for Graham's birthday cake.  Alas, there were not sixty candles but six. gd

And it was clear that Daisy was on candle-blowing duty.

As Daisy wound down for bedtime, she entertained herself with a vintage Happy Birthday wind-up musical box.

The next morning, Daisy was keen to put her cooking utensil presents into action, making fairy cakes with Avis.

Daisy makes light of the relatively tricky task of putting the icing on the cakes with the assistance of Avis.

And after the making, the pleasure of eating.  I'll put more of these photos on the Daisy cookery page in due course.

In the afternoon, Louise popped over the Becky.  Paul, having had a rocky night on baby duty, stayed at home.  Daisy immediately fetched the sure-fire entertainment, and it clearly worked.

To finish, a shot of Lynne and Becky posing nicely.

Sorry, that's it.
