Ah, what would we do without the good old TV? What a fantastic invention. Admittedly, there is plenty of dross on the screen (Hollyoaks anyone?). But there are also plenty of gems, some well-hidden.
The whole thing began when the cathode ray tube was invented back in... well, who knows and who cares? The important thing is that you can get heftily-sized widescreen TVs for a reasonably affordable price. And that in itself is great.
Spaceman is a discerning viewer who bores easily and so it takes a fairly good show to get spaceman's attention. Those that have in recent years include:
The Sopranos The Simpsons Six Feet Under
ER Knowing Me Knowing You Spaced The Office Teachers The Day Today Brass Eye Marion & Geoff This Life Have I Got News For You NYPD Blue CSI: Miami/NY The Royle Family Paul & Pauline Calf's Video Diary How Do You Want Me? Frasier Friends The Lakes Men Behaving Badly Phoenix Nights 24 Peep Show Shameless Early Doors Green Wing
And probably a lot more that spaceman can't remember. If there have been any obvious ones missed out, you can use the power of email. And of course there are the old classics like Fawlty Towers, Blackadder and Yes, (Prime) Minister.
