Aside from spacemanmf, Warhawk did not quite capture the imagination of The Players (as Call Of Duty 4 did).  Mike_mayhem3030 drew attention to "some annoying features" (although did not specify what these might be) before conceding that it is "good for a laugh, though" and giving it a reasonable 7.5/10.  The_Stott, meanwhile, decreed it as "ok, but [the] planes are a waste of time and maps could be better", awarding it 7/10.  CFFIA barely played it and therefore neither review comments nor a mark were forthcoming.

 

Unfortunately, the above comments were probably reflective of not giving the game enough time, preferring Call Of Duty 4.  This is, to some extent, understandable, but Warhawk has some clear advantages:  greater flexibility and variety due to vehicular access, better strategic elements due to base control, ability to find online games of suitable difficulty level, fewer connection issues, to name but a few.  And above all, it is the fun alternative to the deep intensity of the twitchy trigger finger battles of COD4.  It's not short of its own adrenaline rushes - try successfully driving a jeep across a huge map while holding the captured flag and consequently having to dodge the gun-fuelled attentions of overhead aircraft.  It's brilliant at what it is, but for its slight lack of depth it gets 9/10.
